About EgoTools

EgoTools is a collection of small interactive tools built around curiosity: age, time, birthdays, money, personal statistics and internet nostalgia.

The rule behind the site

A result should either be a real calculation with its assumptions explained, a sourced fact, or clearly labelled entertainment. We do not want a fun quiz to masquerade as scientific population data.

Why so many tools?

Curiosity rarely ends with one question. Someone who asks “how many days have I been alive?” may also want to know their age on Mars or how many weeks they have lived. The tools are therefore designed as a connected collection rather than isolated pages.

Current version

The current site is a lightweight HTML, CSS and JavaScript project. Most calculations happen directly in the browser. Some history and birthday features request public Wikimedia data when available.
